We’ve had a last minute audition for the role of Prince in Cinders. It certainly sets the bench high for the singing ability of the Prince…
Just to clarify. Yes, that is Darren, the Executive Bully of Backyard Productions.
Monday 20 July marks the 40th anniversary of the first man on the moon. To celebrate the achievement we had a moon party hosted in usual great style by Darren and Sandra on Saturday!

Space style fancy dress was worn…astronauts, stars, planets, 60’s dress and even Albert II the first chimp in space. Darren and R2D2 Phil recreated the lunar module and moon in the garden including take off and landing areas. [Read more]
Backyard Productions said a sad farewell to a much loved companion, crew member and actor today, our dog Chewie. He was always there by our feet during editing, barking during filming and even had the honour of knocking over our George Lucas! A gentle giant, he was our very own “walking carpet” and we will all miss him very much indeed.
Set on the glorious South Bank, the Movieum of London provided the perfect location for Backyard Productions’ second set of auditions. And what a day it was! We were treated to some exceptional talent and some stunning singing performances.
Again, Dom provided a fantastic spread, and his “crew” were the epitome of professionalism. Without the help of Julie, Roz, Patti, and Boris, we would never have got through all the auditionees, so a big thank you to them.
And another shout out to those who gladly read in other parts to give the auditionees someone to work with.
A special mention should be made to Steve who tirelessly held aloft the mic boom for virtually every single audition. Mark feebly attempted to do so for one audition, but made such a fuss about it that he was banned from ever doing it again.
As the day went on, the sandwiches diminished, but the quality of the auditions certainly didn’t. We are now faced the unenviable task of sorting out the casting. So watch this space to see how we are getting on!
Of course, the last (and most important) thank you has to go to the brilliant and helpful staff at the London Movieum. We couldn’t have done it without you!
