RICK McCALLUM PERSONALLY ACCEPTS COPY OF TENCLO
To everyone involved with TENCLO; your hard work is now in the hands of the
producer of the REAL Star Wars movies. Second only to George Lucas himself,
it doesn't get any better than this!!!!!
Here's
what happened, in our Director / Producer Darren
Scales's words…
I
was at the Star Wars "Celebration Europe" convention
this weekend; and queued to see Rick
McCallum.
So I was sitting
down watching Rick at his guest appearance and plucked up the courage
to ask him
a question. "What happens to fanfilms that are
sent
to LucasFilm?"
He said, "You know
that final scene in Raiders with the warehouse where the
Ark is locked away never to be seen again....!" After the audience laughed,
he went on to say "But hey, if you have a copy with you..." "As
a matter of
fact I do!" I hastily replied. "Well bring it up" gestured Rick.
So I ran down
to the stage, shook his hand and gave him a copy of TENCLO. I
can't remember everything we said (I was so shocked), except for his parting
remark... "I will watch it!" WOW!!!!

Will he watch it? I don't
know. But hey, at least he has a copy of TENCLO!!!!!
(Many thanks to our quick-witted friend Bart Barenbrug, who snapped these pics of Darren's special moment!)
YAY and WELL DONE ALL!!!!! (and...
if any episodes of the upcoming Star Wars TV series involve song-and-dance
routines, or egg-whisk hands, we'll all know the truth....!)
The whole event was a fantastic experience - Darren and Luke and Steve also got to meet some familiar characters!

TENCLO PREMIERE HUGE SUCCESS!!
The wait was finally over on September 9th when Star Wars - The Emperor's New
Clones received its world charity premiere. With over 350 people
attending, we are proud to have raised over £850 pounds of cash donations,
all
of which will go to our chosen charity - UNICEF.
 The
evening kicked off with a great warm up from the
brilliant Saxutopia,
playing some great familiar John Williams favourites,
whilst our guests enjoyed pre-show drinks. Everyone
enjoyed the show, including ITV's calendar team,
who came to review the evening for local TV. It was
great to finally see the film on the big screen,
and Whittle Hall at RAF Cranwell provided a perfect
venue for the event.
 The
after show party was a great opportunity to reflect
and enjoy discussing the film with the cast and crew,
and documentary footage from the production was shown
during the rest of the evening.
You
can now view and download the film from TheForce.Net,
who are kindly hosting it for us. Feel free to read
and participate in discussion of the film on the
TFN forums, or send us your comments through our
contact page.

BYP and TENCLO in the papers
Wow - we've had a bit of publicity recently! From the
Sunday Mirror in Scotland, to the Lincolnshire Echo, to British
Forces publicity. Mainly because while working abroad, Darren has
met up with Colin MacGregor (Ewan MacGregor's brother), who is also in the RAF.
He has apparently been very impressed by our TENCLO trailer and BOTH, and has
agreed to pass on a copy of our finished film to Ewan. You never know - they
may even make it to the premiere! |
