Jedi Costume
Some of the costumes
have already been completed, like this one modelled by Luke. Others
are proving a bigger challenge. |
Costume Making
Most
of the costumes are being made from scratch by a dedicated team. It
was often difficult to get the right material.
|
Costume Design
Parts of
some of the costumes
are designed using standard patterns, but others have to be painstakingly recreated from
photographs.
|
Lighting
Well we wouldn't want
our set to be on the dark side - wouldn't we... ? |
R2-D2
Rebels from
across the country have been drafted to build the set, and
loaned their previous creations,
like this droid. |
Tea Break
Unfortunately, as
Phill found, there was nowhere to hide from the
demanding whims of the
Executive Bully.
|
Framework
Paul
and Adam begin work on constructing the main set,
the framework of which is made of scaffolding. |
Construction Begins
The full height of
the room has been used on this set.
This needed a team with a good head for heights. |
Putting Up the Flats
The top flats are
hardboard and were painted beforehand. The lower
flats were painted in place.
|
Ready for
Action
As his uncle and aunt
help him with the painting, Luke is ready to take on the Empire at a
moment's notice.
|
Inside the
“Small Moon”
Now the structure of
the main set has nearly been completed, the next
stage is to dress the set.
|
Work Starts on New Set
This view from the
platform shows that the room is so large that another, adjoining set
is taking shape in the background. |
Watch this Space
As more of the
details of the set emerge, what adventures will we be witnessing
through this porthole of doom... ?
